1. Terms of Service
These terms form an agreement between you and the operator of stockmarkets.today (“we”, “us”, “the service”). By creating an account you confirm you have read, understood and accepted them, and that you are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement in your country of residence.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not create an account or use the service.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that point means you accept the revised terms.
2. Nature of the service & risk disclosure
2.1 Information, not advice
The service produces systematic rankings, portfolio statistics, historical simulations and model-generated commentary. All of it is general information. None of it:
- constitutes investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice;
- takes account of your personal circumstances, objectives, financial situation, risk tolerance or needs;
- is a recommendation, offer, or solicitation to buy or sell any security;
- should be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision.
We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial institution in any jurisdiction. You should consult a licensed professional before making investment decisions.
2.2 Risk warning
Investing involves risk, including the total loss of capital. Prices can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invest.
2.3 Backtests and past performance
Historical results and strategy comparisons shown in the service are hypothetical simulations, not the results of real trading. Simulated results have inherent limitations: they benefit from hindsight, do not reflect real liquidity, slippage, tax, or the psychological difficulty of following a strategy through a drawdown. Past performance, whether real or simulated, does not guarantee or indicate future results.
2.4 AI-generated content
Parts of the service use large language models to summarise information and produce commentary. AI output can be incomplete, outdated or factually wrong. Verify anything material before acting on it.
2.5 Third-party data
Market data is obtained from third-party sources. We do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness or timeliness, and we are not liable for errors, delays or interruptions in that data.
2.6 No execution
The service does not connect to your brokerage, cannot place orders, and cannot move your money. Trades you record are manual entries for tracking purposes only and may not reflect your actual positions.
3. Accounts
You must provide an accurate email address and keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
One account per person. Do not share credentials or resell access.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law.
4. Subscriptions, credits & refunds
4.1 Plans
A free plan provides portfolio tracking and charts. The paid plan is billed monthly in advance at the price shown at checkout, through PayPal. We do not see or store your card or PayPal login details.
4.2 Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from Settings or through PayPal. Cancelling stops future charges; access continues to the end of the period already paid for, after which the account reverts to the free plan. Your recorded portfolio history is retained.
4.3 Credits
The paid plan includes a monthly allowance of credit points used by AI-powered features. Allowance points reset at each billing period and do not carry over. Separately purchased credit points do not expire while the account is active and are consumed only after the monthly allowance is used.
Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money.
4.4 Refunds
Except where a refund is required by applicable consumer law, fees already paid are non-refundable, including for partially used periods and for purchased credits that have been consumed. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will review it in good faith.
4.5 Price changes
We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before the change takes effect for your subscription. You may cancel before then if you do not accept the new price.
4.6 Availability
We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages and factors outside our control may cause downtime. Downtime does not by itself entitle you to a refund.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, harvest, redistribute or resell content or data from the service;
- share your account, or provide access to others;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or other users' data;
- reverse engineer, or interfere with the operation or security of the service;
- use the service unlawfully, or to present its output to others as personalised financial advice.
All content, code, design and methodology remain our intellectual property. Your personal data and the portfolio records you enter remain yours.
6. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any trading or investment losses, lost profits, lost data, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including where the information or signals it produced were inaccurate, delayed or unavailable.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, or for any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms.
7. Privacy Policy
We collect the minimum needed to run the service, and we do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.
8. What we collect and why
8.1 Data you provide
- Email address — to identify your account, sign you in, send service messages and, if you opt in, the daily digest.
- Password — stored only as a salted PBKDF2-SHA256 hash. We never store or have access to your plain password.
- Portfolio records — the trades, holdings, watchlists and alerts you enter, used to produce your own analysis. They are stored in a directory private to your account and are not visible to other users.
8.2 Data generated by use
- Session cookie — a random token that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for the service to work and is not used for tracking or advertising.
- Usage records — which AI features you used and how many credits they consumed, for billing accuracy and abuse prevention.
- Server logs — standard technical logs including IP address, kept for security and troubleshooting.
8.3 Payment data
Payments are processed by PayPal. Card numbers and PayPal credentials are entered on PayPal's systems and never reach ours. We store only a subscription identifier, status and billing period.
8.4 Third parties we share with
- PayPal — to take and manage payments.
- Anthropic — AI features send the relevant market and portfolio context needed to produce your analysis. Your email address and password are never sent.
- Market data providers — we request prices for tickers; no personal information is sent.
- Email delivery — only if you enable email features.
We may disclose data where legally required. We do not sell your data.
8.5 Retention
Account and portfolio data is kept while your account exists. After deletion it is removed within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (such as payment records). Technical logs are kept for a limited period.
8.6 Security
Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. Each account's data is stored separately and access is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify affected users of a breach that presents a significant risk, without undue delay.
8.7 International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country. Where required we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
9. Your data rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent for optional processing such as marketing emails. You can export or delete your portfolio data from within the app, or contact us and we will action requests within the period required by applicable law.
If you are in the UK or EEA and believe we have not handled your data properly, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's place of business, and the courts there have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
